Vinci staff have raised an incredible £2,702.40 towards the Paediatrics A&E Department at Whiston Hospital.
The team, consisting of 7 Vinci Facilities and 2 Vinci Construction employees, ventured on the SOMAD Coast to Coast challenge in October cycling a total of 170 miles, climbing 9143 feet and averaging 12.7 mph.
The cyclists shown their pedal power as they travelled from the Blackpool seafront in freezing conditions and were blighted by nearly 8 hours of persistent rain, but reached the 95 mile point at Malton just before sunset. This was followed by an extensive detour from Malton to Scarborough after a minor sat nav incident.
This fantastic achievement was greatly supported by J.Geddes Cycle and contractors from the Vinci contract, as well as friends and family.
We are so proud of everyone who took part in this impressive journey from West to East in aid of funds for our
Younger Patients Fund – well done guys!
